Commerce and Payments
Connect Stripe, Shopify, Square, or TikTok Shop and understand what a connection does and does not change.
Wesley's available commerce and payment connections are Stripe, Shopify, Square, and TikTok Shop. Open a client and go to Settings > Integrations, then open the relevant integration.
A connection can show Enabled even when no historical data has been imported into the client book.
Stripe
Stripe supports Wesley A/R invoice and payout workflows.
Connect and verify readiness
- Open Stripe and choose Enable.
- Complete the Stripe connection or onboarding steps.
- Return to Wesley and confirm that the correct Stripe account is shown.
- Check Can send invoices and Payouts enabled on the connection page.
Connected means Wesley has a Stripe account link. It does not necessarily mean the account can send invoices. Wesley reports Can send invoices: Yes only when the connected account has completed the required details and Stripe has enabled charges. Finish Stripe onboarding if the connection exists but invoice sending is unavailable.
When configured, Wesley can create hosted Stripe invoices from Wesley A/R and use Stripe payout context to enrich deposit review. Existing invoice status still needs review in the A/R workflow.
Reconnect or disable
Use Reconnect to renew access or resume incomplete onboarding. If Stripe reports that an account is already connected to another Wesley client, disconnect it from that client only after confirming the mapping is wrong.
Disable removes the Stripe connection from Wesley and prevents new connected invoice operations until it is reconnected. It does not delete Wesley A/R records, Stripe customers, invoices already created in Stripe, or the Stripe account itself.
Shopify
Shopify setup asks for the store address and then asks you to approve the connection in Shopify. After connecting, verify that the correct store name and address appear in Wesley.
Wesley requests read access to orders, full order history, products, and Shopify Payments payouts. Connections created before all four permissions were required show Needs attention. Use Reconnect to grant the missing permissions; reconnecting does not remove existing accounting records.
Enabled confirms the Shopify store is connected; it does not confirm that historical orders, fees, payouts, or settlements were imported. Look for the expected results in the client book before using them for bookkeeping.
Disable removes the saved Wesley Shopify connection. It does not automatically delete accounting records. Reconnect to restore or replace the connection.
Square
Square connects a merchant for supported payout and sales workflows. After connecting, verify that the correct merchant appears in Wesley.
Connection does not post every payment, order, or payout automatically. Verify the selected automation or deposit-review result in the client book.
Disable removes the saved Wesley Square connection. It does not automatically remove existing journal or accounting records. Use Reconnect when the page shows Needs attention.
TikTok Shop
TikTok Shop connects a seller account. After connecting, verify that the correct seller and region appear in Wesley.
Enabled confirms the TikTok Shop account is connected; it does not confirm that orders or finance records were imported or reconciled. Look for the expected results in the client book.
Disable removes the saved Wesley TikTok Shop connection. It does not automatically delete accounting records. Reconnect to restore the connection.
Ask the client to connect
The integrations page can email an active or invited client-portal contact a secure link for Stripe, Shopify, Square, or TikTok Shop setup. Tell the client the exact account, store, merchant, or seller to authorize. After they finish, a firm user should verify the identity and readiness on the integration page.
Coming soon is not connected
Bill.com, Xero, Toast, Amazon, Karbon, and Slack are shown as planned integrations. Their Enable action is unavailable.
Troubleshooting
The provider is Enabled but no data appears
First confirm what the current provider integration supports. A successful connection does not always run a historical import. For Stripe, check the A/R and payout workflow. For Square, Shopify, and TikTok Shop, do not assume an import occurred without visible results in the client book.
Stripe is connected but invoices cannot be sent
Check Can send invoices, Payouts enabled, and the connected account's onboarding in Stripe. Charges must be enabled before Wesley reports the account ready for invoice sending.
The wrong store or merchant was connected
Stop any related accounting work, disable the incorrect connection, and connect the correct provider account. Existing accounting records are not removed by disabling, so review any records created before correcting the connection.
Reconnect fails
Sign in directly to the provider, verify that the user can authorize the intended account, and retry. If the provider says the account is already assigned to another Wesley client, identify that client before disconnecting anything.
For all provider states and disconnect behavior, return to Integrations.
