QuickTool for QuickBooks Online

Select a firm and company, then open, connect, reconnect, or disconnect QuickBooks Online.

QuickTool is Wesley's focused QuickBooks Online entry surface. It does not bypass normal firm or client permissions. Sign in, select an Accounting Firm, select a Company, and then run the action for that exact selection.

QuickTool provides four actions:

ActionResult
LaunchOpens the selected company's QuickBooks integration workspace in Wesley
ConnectConnects the selected company to QuickBooks Online
ReconnectRenews the selected company's existing QuickBooks connection
DisconnectRemoves the selected company's saved QuickBooks connection

Select the firm and company

  1. Sign in to Wesley.
  2. In Accounting Firms, select the firm.
  3. In Companies, search for and select the client company.
  4. In Current selection, verify both names.
  5. Read the connection panel and verify the displayed QBO company name.
  6. Choose the primary action only after the selection is correct.

When your account has exactly one firm or the firm has exactly one available company, QuickTool may select it automatically. Automatic selection is convenience, not confirmation.

Launch

Launch does not change the connection. Open QuickBooks page takes you to the selected client's Wesley QuickBooks Online integration page. From there you can inspect connection details or choose Open QBO Sync.

Connect

Use Connect QuickBooks when the selected client has no saved QBO connection.

  1. Verify the Wesley firm and company.
  2. Start the connection.
  3. In Intuit, choose the exact QBO company for that client.
  4. Return to Wesley and verify the company name.
  5. Open sync review before importing or posting records.

If a connection already exists, the Connect page changes its primary label to Reconnect QuickBooks.

Reconnect

Use reconnect for expired access, changed permissions, or Needs attention. Select the same QBO company unless you intentionally need to correct a wrong connection.

Reconnect preserves previously imported Wesley records and existing QBO records. After reconnecting, refresh the sync review and inspect changes since the last successful operation.

Disconnect

Disconnect QuickBooks removes the saved Wesley connection for the selected company.

Disconnect does not:

  • delete QBO records;
  • delete records already imported into Wesley;
  • reverse records previously sent to QBO;
  • replace the normal accounting deletion or correction workflow.

After disconnect, retained QBO journal entries can be edited or reclassified locally in Wesley. Reconnecting restores provider protection for entries that still carry QBO source identity.

Because QuickTool makes the action immediate for the current selection, recheck the firm, company, and connection identity before choosing it.

If the action is unavailable

  • No accounting firms: create or join a firm first.
  • No companies: add the client or obtain client access.
  • Connection state failed to load: refresh and do not guess whether the client is connected.
  • Connection cannot start: refresh and retry; contact Wesley Support if the problem continues.
  • Wrong company selected in Intuit: stop before syncing, disconnect the mistaken link, and connect again.

For data review and sync direction, continue to QuickBooks Online.
